Urdu 1 Drama Shehrnaaz Episode 3 Review: Shehrnaaz Finally on Her Way to Becoming a Successful Actress!

Following the story of a budding actress, Shehrnaaz is all about a young girl’s struggle to reach her dream goals. She hails from a lower middle-income household, with her father making ends meet as a tailor.

SHEHRNAAZ’S ‘DREAM COME TRUE’ MOMENT!

In the third episode, Shehrnaaz learns that all of her prayers may finally be answered via a phone call informing her that she has been selected after an audition she gave.

Jubilant, she hangs up the call after thanking the caller profusely and proceeds to inform her father of their upcoming fortunes and fame. The father, the usual supportive figure, reacts very positively to the news and expresses his beliefs in his daughter’s dreams. He nicks a fancy dress for his daughter to wear to her second audition. (Quite a Cinderella moment, I must say!)
After getting all dolled up, Shehrnaaz arrives at the venue of the audition only to notice that she seems to have worked too hard on her appearance – the rest of the girls have donned casual attires.

The turning point of the episode was when Shehrnaaz’s name is called and she walks to the audition room and discovers a familiar face there: a man who once bumped clumsily into her and knocked her things out of her hands (she berated him rather nastily). The audition goes well, though.

SHERRY IS NOT WHAT HE SEEMS TO BE

Shehrnaaz’s friend informs Sherry about Shehrnaaz’s imminent success, and he responds in a sarcastic manner. He does end up claiming he was joking, but the viewer catches a glimpse of a bitter edge to the man’s character.

SEEMS LIKE SHEHRNAAZ WILL GET THE STELLAR MOVIE ROLE, BUT AT WHAT COST?

Meanwhile, the man in the audition room (played by Aly Khan) seizes the opportunity of encountering Shehrnaaz again and takes revenge in his own ways, making her act out awkward scenes.

However, Shehrnaaz is unfazed and doesn’t back down, the brave warrior that she is. With a slight touch of hilarity and Shehrnaaz’s give-a-damn attitude, the scene was subtle yet quite impactful.
The man (who happens to be the director of the movie) begins flirting with her, in front of the rest of the judges. The man finally gets the last say, asking her to act out a beautiful poor woman who become the love interest of a rich man.
The tailor-dad witnesses the designer he stitches for overreacting to losing the dress she valued highly. A preview of the next episode presents a shock factor: the director, who was shown fawning over Shehrnaaz’s photographs, makes the girl an offer. She gets the role of a lifetime, and he gets the girl he wants!
The naïve girl that Shehrnaaz is, who was all set to believe that the world isn’t as bad as it’s made out to be, is devastated. It turns out that her fantasies of winning through sheer talent may just be shattered.
Will the director pop the big question? More importantly, will Shehrnaaz accede to this ridiculous condition? Will her passion for acting overpower her moral judgment? We can only wait for episode five to find out!

Urdu 1 Drama Shehrnaaz Episode 4 Review: 5 Shocking Things That’ll Make You Eager for the Next Episode!

Shehrnaaz is panning out to be just as intriguing as we were all hoping it to be. A bit clichéd at times, the drama series is holding up its own fort though and that has a lot to do with just how fast the drama’s storyline is progressing. The latest episode was packed with a number of instances that I personally found played quite a powerful hand in steering the story line forward.
The recent episode had a lot of plot twists and turns that definitely left us in shock! Some were expected but just as impactful while some were totally out of the blue.

Here are five shocking things that happened in Urdu1 Drama Shehrnaaz’s episode 4 that left us in awe and made us so impatiently eager to watch the next episode.

1. SHERRY IS NOT WHO WE THOUGHT HE IS

Years of reading novels and watching serials have taught me one thing- NEVER fall for men who claim to change overnight. This episode revealed that Sherry either didn’t want to or just could not stay loyal to Shehrnaaz.
shehrnaaz
We can see the apparently perfect relationship crack and from the looks of it, it’s only a matter of time before Sherry returns to his former self- the flirtatious ladies man!
In the next episode’s promo, we could see Sherry falling for another girl. Does that mean he’ll leave Shehrnaaz despite putting a ring on her finger? Let’s wait and find out. Personally, there is no passion in their relationship and maybe Ayeza needs to put more life into this aspect of her character to make this more convincing.

2. KK’S SHOCKINGLY INAPPROPRIATE OFFER

The disdainful film producer KK (Aly Khan) offered to cast Shehrnaaz as the lead heroine in his movie but upon an inappropriate condition! “Tumhe film chaye aur… mujhe tum” is what KK tells Shehrnaaz and it is pretty apparent what he meant by it.

He has taken up Shehrnaaz as a challenge, trying hard to woo her with gifts & flowers because he feels he hasn’t seen anyone like her before.
Watch this intriguing teaser below:

However, Ayeza’s apparent infuriation and how she translated the anger onto the screen was commendable! She proved that she is a girl of honor and WILL NOT compromise on her principles, scruples or ethics. Shehrnaaz gave KK a piece 0f her mind and we LOVED it!

3. THE UNDYING LOVE BETWEEN SHEHRNAAZ & HER FATHER

As always, it was very refreshing to watch the father-daughter duo act flawlessly on-screen. Sajid Hassan’s transformation for the role is impeccable!

The way Shehrnaaz relies on her father for the smallest of things and how her father goes to just about any extent to fulfill her wishes is truly heart-melting.

4. THE DESIGNER & HER TANTRUMS

A major chunk of the last episode was dedicated to the tantrums the designer, Shehrnaaz’s father works for, throws when things do not go her way. Makes one wonder if this designer will have a major role to play in the future as the drama moves forward. She does get on our nerves, doesn’t she?

5.  AYEZA KHAN STEALS THE SHOW

Whoever has been watching the drama since the beginning will definitely agree that Ayeza Khan’s screen time as Shehrnaaz is the most powerful! Be it her over- confidence, enthusiasm, friendship or just plain dominance, we find Ayeza Khan acting her heart out and embodying Shehrnaaz’s character to the fullest, and this time was no different!

In true essence, her brilliant acting helps keep the viewer’s engaged throughout the drama.
Her acting prowess was remarkable in the last scene when she shuns KK’s offer and leaves in fury! Shehrnaaz’s blunt refusal to KK and the minor role she is offered earlier in the episode is an evident proof of how she is willing to settle for nothing less!

Will she ever achieve stardom? Looks like Shehrnaaz would have to compromise on a lot more than she had expected!

In Review : Shehrnaaz is all about self respect and we love that

Shehrnaaz is a play which focuses on working hard to achieve your dreams and not compromising on your dignity.
One just cannot stop raving about drama serial Shehrnaaz which has the beautiful Ayeza Khan playing the lead. It is fast paced, interesting and light-hearted. After a tiring day, this is a kind of drama that you want to watch. A lot seems to have happened in the aspiring superstar, Shehrnaaz's life as this week she is about to sign a movie contract with a big production house but doesn’t. Any guesses why? Well, read on to find out.

As you know the purpose of Shehrnaaz's life is to become a heroine and a superstar so she and her Baba ( Sajid Hassan) can stop depending on the designer Naina Pardesy and enjoy a life of luxury. While Baba is a simple man who is quite content with being poor Shehrnaaz has big dreams for both of them.
Having left the pervious episode where Shehrnaaz goes for an audition and gets selected, this week she is called in to sign the movie contract which is being made by Kamiar Khan's aka KK's ( Aly Khan) production house and he is completely smitten by her beauty and personality.

If you remember Shehrnaaz had meet KK while she was going to drop her portfolio but had no clue who he was and gave him hell for bumping in to her. Now finding out that he is the famous producer KK Shehrnaaz mellows down, but only for a second. The proposal which he puts in front has her fuming once again.

The makers ( Hassan Zia & Danish Taimoor) of Shehrnaaz have made a drama in which their main character has a lot of self respect and wants to become famous through hard work and not take the easy way out.

KK offers her the movie as a lead, but also tells her that if she signs the contract then she is restricted to him. He wants more from her then just a working relationship!

Shocked or rather outraged by his behaviour Shehrnaaz lets go off her dream. Taking a stand for her self-respect, she doesn’t sign the movie and walks out.

Here we must give credit to the makers could have taken this the other way too and shown the story to be how bechari Shehrnaaz had to compromise on her dignity to become famous. But they didn’t, instead of with her head held high Shehrnaaz continues to struggle and still hopes to make it big in the industry without taking the wrong path.

This week also saw the entry of Ghana Ali as Sara who manages to attract Sherry (Farhan Malhi) towards her immediately proving that he is not as committed to Shehrnaaz as he shows. But while Shehrnaaz has not openly accepted the relationship she does, in fact, say his name in front of Baba which makes him question her on who this Sherry is.

Going by the promos it seems that Sherry is dead serious about Sara and has even sent a proposal to her house, how will Shehrnaaz react? Well, that is what we will find out next week.

Danish Taimoor and Hassan Zia are the producers of this play and hats off to the actor turned producer for bringing a story in front of the viewers which focuses on working hard to achieve your dreams and for stressing on the fact that being poor is not a criteria for compromising on your dignity.

Ayeza Khan continues to shine bright as she makes each scene worth watching. Sajid Hassan, as usual, is brilliant and Aly Khan who has joined the cast as the sleazy KK also aces at what he does.

So do tune in to Urdu 1 every Wednesday at 8 pm to find out whether Shehrnaaz achieves her dream by hard work or circumstances make her grab KKs hand and be the star she wants to be.

In Review: This week was all about discovering who Shehrnaaz is

Shehrnaaz is one drama serial that shoos away your mid week blues.
The second episode of Shehrnaaz was fast paced and gave us an insight into the protagonist's personality, making us instantly fall in love with the character. Shehrnaz (Ayeza Khan) is someone who is ambitious but at the same time very caring towards the people whom she loves, especially her father. For him, she'd even give up her acting dream!

Had it been any other play or cast, they would have dragged the scenes and bored us to death. However, this was not the case with Shehrnaaz. Here the story progressed beautifully, building the character and plot. Last week we saw Shehrnaaz trying her luck and nailing an audition. Now she's asked to submit a good photographic portfolio of hers, and that too within a week!
Not wanting to trouble Baba, she confides in her best friend, Annie who encourages her to book the best photographer in town and not worry about the money. To be honest, it was actually quite nice to see a genuine friendship on screen for a change.

While Shehrnaaz worries about her portfolio, Sherry ( Farhan Malhi) is seen fantasizing about her and wanting to impress her. He decides to wow her by reading up on Shakespeare’s plays in order to look like a smart and loyal fan. But books are probably not his strongest area. The poor guy's attempt, however, makes you wish and pray in his favor.

With the money issue sorted and portfolio ready, Shehrnaaz heads to the agency where she bumps into Alyy Khan. Their first encounter isn't so positive as she gives him a piece of her mind for not watching his step.
Just one glimpse of Alyy Khan was enough to hint the viewers that things are going change for the aspiring actress real soon. Only two episodes down and the story seems to get exciting already, thanks to the director Syed Ahmed Kamran and writer Hoor Shamaeel for not dragging the scenes.

Another interesting bit worth the mention is the growing closeness between the two main characters. Sherry seems to be dead serious about Shehrnaaz and is going to pop the question but will she accept? Only time will tell.

As we mentioned above, this week’s episode was all about discovering Shehrnaaz's character; her bond with her father, her aims, and goals, her relationship with her best friend and her morals and values.

Shehrnaaz is a play which makes you enjoy that one hour mainly because of Ayeza Khan's superb acting. Her conversations with her Baba (Sajid Hassan) are a real treat to watch as the story leaves you craving for more.

Do watch Shehrnaaz every Wednesday at 8 pm only on Urdu 1, we have a feeling the coming episodes will be even better revealing Shehrnaaz's future. Will it be a smooth ride? Or will she have to make a choice between her loved ones and career? Stay tuned to find out!
